My personal favorite trend is R.A.K. aka Random Acts of Kindness. As an example, they cite Interflora in the UK which has launched a social media campaign via Twitter. The campaign consists in monitoring user accounts and if they happen upon a tweet à la “alarm clock didn’t ring & missed my flight” or “my boyfriend forgot our anniversary”, Interflora will offer to send you a flower bouquet to brighten up your day.
A great idea!
During my MBA at ESADE I investigated Ideo for a case study on innovation. Ideo’s first important claim to fame probably was the invention of the mouse for Apple in 1983. The company has developed the concept of Design Thinking, which they define as follows: “Design Thinking is a human-centered approach to innovation that draws from the designer’s toolkit to integrate the needs of people, the possibilities of technology, and the requirements for business success.”
